The 2025 Formula 1 Canadian Grand Prix had it all: qualifying with a surprising grid order, an interesting race in terms of strategy, gossip among the championship leaders, and controversies to die for, with the FIA investigating more than half the field… only to issue no sanctions.
George Russell surprised everyone yesterday by taking pole position ahead of Max Verstappen and a missing McLaren. The Briton won the race by playing tricks on his arch-rival Red Bull. For the second time this season, Oscar Piastri, the championship leader, did not finish in the Top 3 and was involved in a surprising collision with his teammate Lando Norris, who made a truly surreal mistake.
Fernando Alonso and Carlos Sainz again scored points, while Franco Colapinto beat his teammate Pierre Gasly for the first time in both qualifying and the race.
